ALNO UK is a corporate member of The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association
(KBSA). The organisation was set up some 28 years ago, initially to promote excellence
within the kitchen industry as the KSA. The KBSA now works across all four home
interest sectors to ensure quality of product, service and installation.
The mission statement of the KBSA is:
"An association to promote professionalism and excellence in the design, supply and installation of fitted kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and home offices."
KBSA members are monitored regularly to make sure they continually meet the organisation’s
stringent criteria. The KBSA has a comprehensive website full of advice, runs
a consumer helpline (01905 726066) and provides a comprehensive advice pack for
customers who make a complaint against a member.
More than 350 kitchen, bathroom and bedroom showrooms throughout the British
Isles are run by KBSA members and these are supported by over 120 of the industry's
leading brands and distributors who join as Corporate Members.
One of the major benefits of buying a kitchen from a KBSA member is that consumers
are protected by a deposit protection scheme called ConsumerCare or a unique and
comprehensive insurance called ConsumerCare Plus.
ConsumerCare protects your deposit only but ConsumerCare Plus covers your deposit,
advanced payments, work in progress and includes a six-year insurance backed warranty.
All KBSA approved retailers have to have been trading solvently for over 2 years,
showing they are a stable company. All KBSA retailers have their own showrooms
with permanently fitted displays, so that consumers can personally check and see
the quality of the kitchens they are buying. They will be able to supply all the
products that they have on display.
All KBSA retailers offer a design and installation service and they will take
full legal responsibility for all the work involved in the contract, including
the fitting of units, plumbing (gas and water) and electrics.
When buying from a KBSA member, consumers can rest assured that they are buying
from the best. Does such expertise cost more? The answer is no. In test after
test, when kitchens of comparable quality have been checked, those from KBSA members
do not cost any more, and because of their superior design skills, can sometimes
cost less than similar kitchens.
